If you tell it to, it will. Just kidding! Kind of…

The lady health and fitness (bible) magazine, Self launched a new diet plan application called “Self Diet Tapper” that will work with you, your cell phone and SMS text messaging.

Ah technology at its best making you your best!

Actually, you shouldn’t look at this like a diet plan, think of it as a new way of life. According to Mashable, is a reminder system (not diet), that was devised by a team of registered dieticians and fitness experts.

Here’s How the “Self Diet Tapper” Works

The subscriber will receive up to five texts per day with instructions on when you should eat and what to drink, and of course exercise.

The system will message at key points of the day and it’s the user’s choice as to whether they want to heed the reminder. The Self.com website will also have its own portal for Diet Tapper app users to find meal and exercises that will go along with the reminders.

And of course there is a little catch… the service doesn’t come without a fee. It’s a $2.99 monthly fee and can be canceled at any time.

Some of these apps will post to your Facebook / Twitter accounts to help you with peer encouragement. And some of these apps even have websites that dynamically work with the application to support your efforts. Best advice to give you, is read the reviews. Don’t just look at the stars, read what the people using the app have to say.
