Google “Has Bean Steve” and the first 5 searches are his website, twitter account, blog, vimeo site and flickr account. Talk about using your SEO! But most importantly, this internet coffee company is seeing real dollars from social media by sticking to these three basic points.
1. Time. Steve, the owner, spends hours upon hours on Twitter, updating his blogs, vlogs and facebook posts. Unlike many companies who only have one toe in the social media pool, Steve is in the deep end and ready to party.
2. Connections. Steve spends hours answering nearly every comment, question, post and repost on all of his social media outlets. He treats every individual as if they are about to buy a million dollars – or since Steve is British, pounds – of coffee. For many new to the social media world that might seem a little ridiculous. After all, in traditional media it’s all about the majority. BUT, in this day and age it only takes one great review or one really bad post to make or break your company. In this new society the individual rules.
3. Content. Every one of Steve’s sites is constantly updated with fresh new items like a coffee of the week, posts about where he’s traveled, tips on making that perfect brew; anything and everything to keep people interested.
What ties all of these points together is their search-ability. Everything Steve does is developed with SEO (search engine optimization) in mind. What’s the point of having a great social media portfolio and kick ass website if no one can find it? So next time your CEO says “why isn’t our company making any money on The Twitter” tell him it’s because you’re not using these three basic points like Steve: Time, Connections and Content.

WOW just found this thanks for the kind words guys, but I think it can be even easier. Treating the web like you would a party, you wouldn’t ignore some friends at the party because you have your best friends there. Treat everyone how you would like to be treated, work hard, and have a great product and the rest kin d of happens.
I never see the stuff we do as work, its just mingling at the greatest party you could ever be invited to.
Thank you Stephen! Great words of advice. Your company is really setting the standard for other companies in the social media world.
